Dublin – a city with a proactive approach to the finding of "last-mile delivery" solutions
By end of May 2022, representatives of the Faculty of Transport Engineering, University of Pardubice, headed by the dean, visited Dublin, where they met with representatives of the local municipality and colleagues from the Technological University Dublin to share mutual experience with implementing of various solutions for the "last-mile-delivery".
Academics from University of Pardubice presented the current situation in the TAČR project CK01000032 including negative and positive experiences that were addressed during the project. It was a big surprise for Irish colleagues to find that in the Pardubice we have the opportunity to work with sharp data from co-operating companies (Czech Post, Dachser, DPD and PPL), thanks to which we can perform very accurate analyzes.
Representatives of the municipality and the local university reciprocally shared their own knowledge from their current projects, which are: Kerbside projects, Cargo bike – share Schemes and the City Center Transportation project.
Sharing mutual information, which was so interesting for all involved, resulted into the invitation of Irish experts to Pardubice, where we would like to continue the discussion at the beginning of the new academic year.
