The Rolling Stock Summer School 2026 will take place in Pardubice, Czechia. Pardubice, nicknamed "City of gingerbread", is situated in East Bohemia, about 100 km from Prague and is easily accessible by rail and road.
University Campus
The main campus of the University of Pardubice is not far from the city centre. Most faculties are situated here, as well as the library, sports facilities, halls of residence and students’ clubs. On Monday, Thursday, and Friday, the courses of the summer school will take place in the building of the Faculty of Transport Engineering on the main campus. The meeting point on Monday will be the entrance hall, seen in the centre of the photo below.

Educational and Research Centre in Transport
For Tuesday and Wednesday, we will move to the Educational and Research Centre in Transport (ERCT) outside the main campus to take advantage of the laboratory facilities. This is located on an enclosed site, so we will meet outside at the gate.

On Wednesday afternoon, we will travel together by train to the test centre of the company VUKV near Velim, about halfway between Pardubice and Prague.
Getting there
The city of Pardubice is located in East Bohemia, about 100 km east of Prague, the capital. The nearest international airport is Václav Havel Airport in Prague. There is a frequent train service between Prague and Pardubice. Pardubice also has a good railway connection with other European cities including Vienna, Budapest, or Dresden.
Public bus service is in operation in Pardubice. You can easily pay by card at the contactless payment terminals on board. To find your train or bus connection in Czechia, you can use the IDOS website or mobile phone app.
