The department offers courses in computer science fundamentals, algorithm development and programming, application software, computer networks, web development, artificial intelligence tools, mathematics, geometry, theory of probability, mathematical statistics, operations research and stochastic models in operations research, as well as MATLAB fundamentals.
The department's scientific and research activities primarily focus on developing and applying information and control systems in transportation, programming web and desktop applications, applying artificial intelligence tools, processing statistical data, and solving optimisation problems in transportation and logistics.
The department also serves as a local CISCO Academy. As part of this role, it offers CISCO networking programme training to students.
