Characteristics of the specialization:

The aim of the study is to prepare students for the performance of regulated professions in airlines. Graduates will be able to obtain, on a voluntary basis, the professional licenses that are necessary for a given profession. As most aviation professions are regulated professions, the study system will at the same time meet the requirements and standards of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) contained in separate documents of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty confirmed by issued Aircraft Maintenance Training and Examination Certificates. (MTO) and Airplane and Helicopter Pilot Training (ATO). The aim of the study is to provide necessary theoretical and practical training of university educated specialists for the performance of regulated professions in airlines with the possibility of working in professional and middle management positions. The study is focused on theoretical courses, vocational courses and practical skills. All graduates must have a good knowledge of both general and professional English.

Theoretical background

Knowledge in theoretical disciplines of aerospace engineering such as aerodynamics, flight mechanics, engine theory, aviation materials, aircraft manufacturing technology, aircraft operations, navigation and flight control systems, avionics and aircraft instrumentation, aircraft maintenance and others, together with language training they will provide students with a broad overview of the aviation field studied and good preparation for entry into practice.

Practical application of acquired knowledge

Part of the curricula is completion of compulsory professional practice. The aim of professional practice is to verify and apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired as a student. Practice is designed to prepare you for your occupation after graduation and allow you to make it easier for you to get into practice and at the same time to get the required practice during your studies. You can also obtain information that can be used to prepare the bachelor thesis or find your future employer.

Relation to the study practice

Compulsory professional practice in selected companies (12 weeks of 40 hours), solving specific practical projects in the classroom, participation of practitioners in teaching vocational subjects and workshops, the possibility of further practical training and internships in companies (beyond compulsory practice) , assigning bachelor theses directly by companies or institutions of state administration.

Graduate employment

  • Airplane and helicopter pilot,
  • aircraft maintenance technician,
  • air traffic controller,
  • professional, respectively. middle managerial positions in the field of air transport, in state administration institutions, in the armed forces of the Czech Republic using aircraft technology, in institutions dealing with the professional investigation of the causes of air accidents, or in organizations providing development, production or operation of aircraft technology for sporting and recreational flying.
