Characteristics of the specialization:

The study is focused on gaining knowledge and skills necessary to prepare graduates for employment and career opportunities, especially in the field of operation, maintenance and repair of rail or road vehicles.

What will you lern

Students will gain both a general knowledge of transport issues, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge and skills that are necessary to address the issues of operation, maintenance and repair of rail or road vehicles in technical practice. It is possible to focus on rail or road vehicles within the study by choosing compulsory-optional blocks of courses.

Linking theory to practice

An integral part of the study is field trips and professional internships of students in companies, or selected lectures by experts from practice in the teaching of vocational subjects. Bachelor's theses are usually assigned in cooperation with companies and organisations operating in the field. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research activities related to the content of the study programme.

Career

Graduates will find employment and career opportunities mainly in various technical positions in companies engaged in operation, maintenance, repair and modernisation, as well as testing of rail or road vehicles. However, they can also work in state administration bodies performing activities related to this field, and they are also prepared for study in a follow-up postgraduate study programme of the same or a similar focus.
