Study programme: | Transport Structures |
Study specialization: | Transport Structures |
Form of study: | full-time, distance-study |
Standard length of study: | 1,5 years |
Characteristics of the specialization:
The master's programme prepares you both theoretically and practically. You will become an engineer who can independently and promptly solve assigned tasks related to design activities or management of civil engineering construction projects, such as bridge structures, railway structures and roads. We have new modern laboratories where you will be able to perform and evaluate experiments and tests within the vocational study courses. In our computer classrooms we will teach you how to work with special programs used in the constructions. But you will get onto construction sites, too. We will take you to building sites and ensure that you can meet with experts and practitioners in cooperation with the. If you feel like it, you can follow up with the doctoral degree.
Theoretical background
The study is based on subjects of theoretical foundation, such as the subjects Elasticity and Strength, Dynamics of Building Structures. You will also learn a lot of information about modelling of bridge structures using software, microscopic simulations in traffic engineering, non-destructive diagnostics of traffic structures and dynamic strength and durability of structures.
Practical application of acquired knowledge
You will acquire practical skills that you will apply in practice in the framework of profile specialized subjects such as metal bridges, solid and reinforced concrete bridges, road junctions, railway stations and junctions, as well as underground and water constructions.
Relation to the study practice
Speakers will also be experts from practice. In addition, lessons take place in specialized laboratories and computer labs. As a student you will be able to participate in the realization of projects and teaching is also in the field. You will be able to apply your acquired knowledge and skills to professional excursions, practices and internships in one of the many partner companies that our department will provide for you.
Graduate employment
After graduation, you will have a large choice of employment opportunities, be it as a worker focused on engineering activities, a designer in the field of transport construction, worker of construction offices, or employee of design and design institutes. In the manufacturing sector, you can work very well, for example, in the position of building preparation, site manager, budget manager or construction supervisor, or bridge manager.
Study abroad
Our university allows its students to complete part of their studies abroad under various programmes (the most important of which is Erasmus+). If you are attracted to this possibility, we can help you very much, we have established contacts across Europe.
