Description:
The project is to develop and optimise a train mounted water supply system to improve friction at the wheel-rail contact point when low adhesion is detected. A key aim of this work is to produce a water delivery configuration which ensures reliable braking rates that are largely independent of environmental factors and contamination at the wheel/rail interface.
