eng Condition Evaluation and Prediction of Concrete Structures Due to various degradation processes, the ability of a concrete structure to fulfil its functions decreases with time. The decision about its keeping in operation or repairing is based on periodical assesment. The technical condition of the structure is evaluated according to several criteria. Some of them are measurable, other can be characterized only verbally. For complex evaluation, methods based on fuzzy logic are thus advantageous. The paper explains the principle and shows an example of the use of fuzzy methods for the evaluation of bridge objects. Here, weights are assigned to the individual criteria. Also the time development of individual characteristics can be considered. The decision between the reconstruction of a large object and building a new one should be based on the experts´ judgement, load tests and comparison of results with those obtained by computer modeling. bridges, reliability, evaluation, technical condition, concrete, fuzzy logic
