eng Some New Approaches in Logistic Management While in this module we will be concerned with defining the terms we are to use, the full understanding of what logistics management really is wi1l take the study of the complete unit, and even then there wi1l be some new approaches which will-be outside our definitions. This is because logistics management is not easy to define in the first place and it is continua1ly changing so much in practice. Many terms are used which are c1ose to being synonymous with logistics management, however the usage varies almost from organisation to organisation. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, practice has changed and is changing so rapidly. Secondly, the practitioners have not yet been able to sort out the terms and to establish common definitions for common practices. Thirdly, the lack of any professiona1 body which represents the whole profession which we wi1l refer to as the logistics management practitioners means that the profession is represented by a number of groups representing separate parts of logistics management. management, logistic
