eng Influence of Imperfections on the Loading Capacity of the Compression Flanges in Steel Railway Bridge Structures The paper deals with a probabilistic procedure for assessment of ultimate carrying capacity of a compressed plate panel. Load carrying capacity assessment is accomplished on a sidewall of the bridge box girders that spans between three adjacent transverse stiffeners. It is assumed that transverse stiffeners are linearly elastic structures. The initial shape of the plate panel is supposed to be in sinusoidal form.
