eng	Determination of Stress-Strain Curves by Instrumented Indentation	The paper explains characteristic features of stress fields under pointed or spherical indenters. Stress strain diagrams can be constructed from data obtained with a spherical indenter, as the strains gradually increase with increasing depth of penetration. The paper brings the relationships between characteristic stress and strain for 1) elastic contact, 2) for fully plastic contact (or soft materials), and 3) relationship for the intermediate strains or for materials with high ratio of yield stress to elastic modulus, which is mased on the model of spherical cavity under internal pressure.
