eng Influence of Initial Imperfections on Spherical Caps Subjected to External Presure The aim of this paper is to perform a detail numerical analysis of the perfect and imperfect spherical cap subjected to an external pressure. In addition to the theoretical description of the stability problem, the results serve for a preparation of future experiments with real steel specimens. The problem is limited to two extreme cases represented by the clamped spherical cap and the simply supported spherical cap. The main task is to find a reduction factor a depending on the thickness parameter RJt. The finite element geometrically nonlinear computational analyses are performed by means of the computer program COSMOS/M. spherical cap;FEM;imperfections;
