eng Loss Of Stability Of Laterally Loaded Cylindrical Shell Article deals with loss of stability of the cylindrical shell subjected to a radial punch of the stiff body (horizontal vessels supported by saddle). The theoretical limit load of the ideal shell is compared with the limit load of the experimental specimen. The numerical analyses of the shell with modeled initial imperfections measured on the experimental shells follow.
