eng Influence of Parameters of Running Gear of a Locomotive on its Running and Guiding Behaviour Dynamic behaviour of a rail vehicle – i.e. so-called running behaviour at the run in a straight track and guiding behaviour at the run through a curve – is influenced with many parameters of the vehicle as well as the track. Among others, the dynamic behaviour attests about the quality of mechanical part of the running gear of the vehicle and is also assessed in the framework of authorization process of new or modernized rail vehicles according to relevant standards. This paper deals with an influence of two basic parameters of the running gear of a rail vehicle – i.e. the longitudinal stiffness of wheelset guiding and the moment against bogie rotation – on its running and guiding behaviour. The influence of these quantities was investigated by means of multi-body simulations of vehicle run. The guiding behaviour was assessed by means of quasistatic guiding forces acting on leading wheels of both bogies; the running behaviour was assessed by means of critical speed of the vehicle. dynamic behaviour of a rail vehicle; stability; critical speed; quasistatic guiding force; moment against bogie rotation; longitudinal stiffness of wheelset guiding; simulations
