eng Selected properties of rubber blends filled by modified polysaccharides The paper deals with preparation of modified CMC fillers and their using in rubber blends. Blends of Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) with varying loading degree of wt% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) fillers have been prepared. The prepared SBR/CMC blends were submitted to measurements of vulcanizing characteristics (MH, ML, ts, tc(90), Rv) as well as physical-mechanical properties (tensile strength, tensibility, hardness) as a function of loading degree of CMC filler. Results obtained showed that 10wt% of CMC in blends has comparable properties with standard. Swelling has been used in the study of elastomeric networks. Swelling equilibrium data, for a new CMC/SBR rubber vulcanizates in xylen, were analyzed by the Flory-Rehner equation simply to obtain a measure of the crosslink density. rubber blends; polysaccharides
