eng Risk management of the joint-stock company ČD, a.s. The objective of this paper is to highlight crucial presumptions and problems of risk management. The paper is also focused on integrated risk management and its parts. Companies operate in environment, for which is characteristic faulted development dynamics. Continual environment changes, increase of indeterminacy and risk of wrong decisions, increase of permanent competition interferences condition such as management style, which would be able to react on this state. New management paradigm is developing, which is adequate to information society and economy based on knowledge (knowledge management) including application of process management principles as last development step of management. Present progress of the management of business subjects is characterized by turbulent and discontinuous environs, to which rapid and fierce changes correspond on condition of indeterminateness and risk. This progress trends from functional management to process management. It is consequence of radical advance of paradigm of management. Integrated risk management addresses risks across a variety of levels in the organisation. The joint-stock company ČD, a. s. applies management principles based on a clearly defined framework of rules for corporate governance and compliance and strengthens the significance of risk management, accompanied by principles of strategic reporting.
