Characteristics of the specialization:
The field of study is focused on management of logistic processes in all parts of the supply chain. Ensuring the right logistics for the company is becoming increasingly important as a result of deepening globalization. Studying this specialization will help you to position yourself better on the domestic and foreign labour market. As a graduate, you will find jobs primarily in the management of logistics business processes (inventory management, warehousing, freight forwarding, etc.) that you will be able to perform independently or in a team professionally.
Theoretical background
The theoretical basis of the study consists of common subjects focused mainly on logistics, technology and traffic management, economics, management and marketing.
Within the specialization Logistics you will learn what is the subject of logistics and what and how is solved within individual areas of logistics. For example, you will gain knowledge of:
- Logistics and transportation technologies,
- technology of loading and storage operations,
- mechanization and automation of shipment processing and distribution,
- forwarding.
You will also gain knowledge of inventory management, operational analysis, automatic identification technologies, information logistics systems, freight and packaging knowledge.
Practical application of acquired knowledge
Organization and management:
- Transport-logistics processes,
- supply-customer chains,
- warehouse processes and material handling.
Relation to the study practice
You will have the opportunity to take part in excursions in selected companies specializing in logistics, transportation, forwarding, warehousing, material handling and packaging. You can look into the practice in the framework of lectures by practitioners or internships. You can process your bachelor thesis directly for a particular company.
