Study programme:Transport Technology and Management
Study specialization:Transport Technology and Control
Form of study:full-time
distance-study
Standard length of study:2 years

Characteristics of the specialization:

The specialization of transport technology and control further develops and deepens the complex knowledge of the principles of transport technology and control. Theoretical knowledge is applied in the field of operational management, optimization of transport and transport processes on transport networks. There are processing and evaluation of projects including technological and economic analyzes of transport systems and information technologies taking a part as well. The Student can be specialized in the field of rail transport or road transport and logistics by the selection of compulsory elective courses starting from the first year of study. At the same time, you will be made ready for possible start of further study at the doctoral level.

Theoretical background

Within the study you will acquire the necessary knowledge in the fields of: transport theory, optimization of transport technology processes, logistics technology theory, management, sustainable mobility, transport modelling, specific aspects of interstate transport, project management, transport costing, progressive passenger transport systems, progressive systems in combined transport, etc.

Practical application of acquired knowledge

  • Operational management, rationalization of transport and transport processes on transport networks, processing and evaluation of transport projects, etc.,
  • special knowledge in the field of quality management of transport processes, spatial planning and transport engineering, sustainable mobility and transport, crisis management in transport, etc.

Relation to the study practice

Professional excursions, internships, semestral work focused on solving transport technology problems in practice, awarding diploma theses in cooperation with companies from the above mentioned areas, participation of practitioners in teaching vocational subjects, participation in the implementation of research projects solving specific transport technology problems, etc.

Graduate employment

  • In companies focused on transport, forwarding, logistics, transport engineering, etc.,
  • within the management, planning and control of the transport system in public administration (e.g. at municipal transport offices, regional transport offices and the Ministry of Transport),
  • in transport research and education organizations.
