Description:
The project solves the problem of the safety of long-term operation of the wheelsets of rolling stock, with the focus on prevention of sudden operating axle fractures. The aim of the project is to develop the means for assessing of residual axle life in a defined condition of surface damage. Thereby enhancing the safety of rolling stock traffic in both passenger and freight transport will be reached. The solution will lead to an exact determination of the technical conditions for the operation of rolling stock axles to prevent emergency situations associated with axles fatigue damage at specific damage parameters.
