Description:
The development of transport in the Czech Republic on the environmental and energy side is controversial with the relevant documents of the EU and the Czech Republic. An efficient way to eliminate undesirable trends is to transfer parts of freight and passenger transport from road to rail. This project is finding the way for the transfer of important volumes of road transport to the electric railway at three levels: a global approach that analyzes resourcess and quantifies the benefits of energy and externalities and the development of two technical solutions in rail transport energy to meet the set objectives: a single rail AC power system with inverter power substations and battery operation on non-electrified lines.
