Description:
The project objective is to develop an original methodology for smart city logistics and its further application with respect to current advancements in e-commerce. Reflecting problems of last-mile delivery, the approach will focus on the urban consolidation centre (UCC) concept. It is expected to focus on municipalities as its prospective end-users. A software tool will be provided to be used with the methodology, where it will be based on predefined/measurable inputs to facilitate contexts of methodology application (i.e. municipality environment, and its conditions), while dealing with the UCC business model selection and operation, encompassing last-mile delivery solutions provided by environmentally friendly means of transport, reflecting various concepts such as sharing economy.
