Performance evaluation in tram operations

Anotace: Tram operations require comprehensive analyses and data-driven decision-making strategies to enhance service performance, given the limited resources available in terms of time, personnel, and finances. In Eskişehir's urban rail system network, which consists entirely of tram lines, the lack of line-based passenger numbers (only stop-based passenger data is available) and the fact that some stops serve multiple lines make it difficult to evaluate line performance effectively. In this study, an approach was developed to assess the performance of stops and lines based on their operational planning-related service potential and passenger transportation data. Through this approach, managerial recommendations were presented to enhance the performance of the tram transportation system.
