eng	Ultracapacitors in transportation	This paper deals with problems with energy storage in the field of electric traction of railway and road vehicles. Energy storage is one of discussed technical problems at present. Constantly growing energy consumption causes rise in prices. One of the perspective solution is using of ultracapacitors which have outstanding performance due to quick energy storage and effectiveness of storage process compared with conventional battery. Production of harmful exhaust gasses during energy generation is another problem in this field. The answer could be replacement of conventional combustion engine with fuel cell. Principle of fuel cell and its cooperation with ultracapacitor are also shortly described in this paper.	: energy accumulation, battery, ultracapacitor, fuel cell, electric traction, alternative propulsion
