All documents must be delivered to the faculty in paper form, either as an original or an officially certified copy of the original. Documents that are not originally published in English, Czech or Slovak must be officially translated into English or Czech. If an officially certified translation is prepared by a non-Czech court interpreter, the sheets with the translations must be attached to the certified copies of the documents to which they relate, in such a way that prevents the additional exchange or confusion of the sheets containing the translation. Translations attached to plain copies of documents will not be accepted.
If the faculty reaches the conclusion that the required facts have not been convincingly documented, or if it has doubts about the sufficient level, scope, or content of the applicant's previous foreign education, supported by a foreign document, it reserves the right to request additional documents proving the applicant's university education.
TUITION
Tuition fees for all accepted applicants have been set at CZK 100.000,- (EUR 4.000) per academic year.
REQUIREMENTS
The study branch enrols individuals who have graduated from first-cycle university-type studies and meet the following requirements:
- A first-cycle university-type study programme completed, and the bachelor’s degree awarded.
- At least B2 level of knowledge of English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages achieved.
- Submitted extended abstract (6.000 to 10.000 characters) in English of the bachelor’s thesis or Seminar Project, focused on the methods used and the results achieved.
- Achieving at least 50 points from the entrance exam evaluation (see paragraph ENTRANCE EXAMINATION of this website).
- Successful completion of the Mechanics course (or similar) as part of a previous study.
- Affidavit of medical competence for work in electrical engineering.
- A study fee for the first year must be paid immediately after being accepted.
The level of English can be proven by these documents: previous bachelor or master education in English, diploma supplement of the undergraduate (first-cycle) education with the assessment for English course at minimum of the B2 level and at least 4 ECTS credits, or a certificate of English test results (TOEFL Paper 513-547, TOEFL IBT 65-78, IELTS 5.5-6.0 levels) or another document certifying knowledge of English at minimum of the B2 level.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
The entrance exam consists of two parts:
- an abstract of a bachelor’s (diploma) thesis or seminar project in English (hereinafter referred to as “extended abstract”) on a topic related to the focus of the study programme to which the applicant is applying.
- Note: The basis for the entrance exam, i.e. an extended abstract in English in the range of 6.000 to 10.000 characters, must be sent by the deadline set by the schedule.
- successful completion of the Mechanics course (or similar) as part of a previous study by:
- the syllabus of the course, confirmed by the university where the course was taken
- and a certified copy of the Diploma Supplement.
Evaluation of the entrance exam
The entrance examination will be evaluated anonymously by a three-member committee appointed by the manager of the study programme based on the following criteria:
Extended abstract
- thesis objectives,
- the methods used,
- inputs used,
- the outputs obtained,
- contribution(s) of the work.
Completion of the course Mechanics
- consistency between the content of the course taken and duly documented and the required course Mechanics (or similar).
The maximum number of points that may be obtained in the entrance examination is 100. An applicant who obtained a total of less than 50 points from both parts of the entrance exam failed the entrance exam and will not be admitted studying.
If the number of applicants who have met the admission conditions is higher than the specified number of admissions, the order of applicants will be determined in each round in descending order according to the assessment of the entrance examination.
Applicants with the same number of points in the waiting list will be arranged alphabetically, while such a subgroup cannot be divided into accepted and not accepted (they will either be all accepted or all not accepted).
At most, a total of 10 applicants in both rounds will be accepted into the full-time study programme based on their overall ranking. Round 2 of admissions will be open only if the capacity of Round 1 is not filled.
The Dean reserves the right not to open this degree programme if:
- less than 5 applicants meet the admission requirements in Round 1. In this case, Round 2 of the admission procedure will not be opened either. Or
- fewer than 5 applicants meet the admission requirements in Round 2 and no applicants were admitted in Round 1.
Admission results
The results of the admission procedure will be published under the applicant’s registration number on the website of UPCE – University of Pardubice (upce.cz), no later than the deadline set by the admission schedule above.
A written confirmation from the Dean of the Faculty regarding the applicant’s acceptance will be sent to the applicant via certified mail within 30 days.
Registration for study
Invitations to enrol in the 1st year of the follow-up master’s study will be sent to the email indicated by the applicant in the application. The accepted applicant will appear for registration, which will take place in the period that will be published on the faculty’s website well in advance.

A student who cannot for serious reasons to appear for the registration within the given deadline, can entrust the registration to a person who proves himself at the registration with his identity card and an officially verified power of attorney.
